Face-to-Face Training Sessions

Enteral Nutrition Training for Care Providers

 

Each 3½ hour training session aims to provide information about:

 

  • Leicestershire Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) Service
  • Caring for a client with a gastrostomy tube in situ
  • Bolus feeding and use of enteral nutrition pumps
  • Infection control issues
 
The sessions are organised and run by staff from the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Services (LNDS) Home Enteral Nutrition Team, and are held at LNDS Headquarters.

Improving Community Adult Nutrition (I-CAN) Training- For Residential and Nursing Homes

Face-to-Face Training

This free training is the face-to-face version of the I-CAN E-Learning package for Residential and Nursing homes. The training session is 3.5 hours.
 
It has been developed by the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (LNDS).
The training includes:
  • How to screen for malnutrition using the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST)
  • How to create a nutrition care plan
  • Treatment and prevention of malnutrition
  • Monitoring guidance and next steps.
 
This interactive training session goes through in detail the LLR ONS Replacement in Care Homes Scheme, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout.
